BEFORE WE LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR
by Peter Moss

It is not too late to add the following binding national referendum question on the November 5, 2002 ballot:
Do you support a war against oil-rich Iraq? __ Yes __ No.
Of course there is no provision in the Constitution for a binding national referendum.
High time we added such a provision. And there is also no provision in the Constitution for the Supreme Court to seat as president the loser of the popular vote. There you have it. Make your voice heard and bring a little democracy to America's sorry governance. Bernie Sanders has stated at a town hall meeting that he supports such a measure. And if the Bush regime objects to the referendum, it will show he and his war have no popular support.
